Climate Clock

One of our awesome pupils told us about the Climate Clock the other day.

Here’s a link to it: https://climateclock.world/

What is the clock show us?

The red number tells us how long we have until there’s irreversible damage to the plant caused by carbon emissions and the green number tells us how much of the world’s energy comes from renewable sources.

We’re aiming to get the green number to 100% before the red number gets to 0.

What irreversible damage might happen?

Greenhouse gases have far-ranging environmental and health effects. They cause climate change by trapping heat, and they also contribute to respiratory disease from smog and air pollution. Extreme weather, food supply disruptions, and increased wildfires are other effects of climate change caused by greenhouse gases
